Q: How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
A: The only way to know for sure is to schedule a session. I expect most clients to have a good sense of whether I am the right therapist to help them within the first 1-3 sessions. I do offer a free 15-minute consultation to all prospective clients.
Q: Do you provide in-person or online counseling?
A: All counseling sessions are conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform (similar to Zoom) or in-person at my office on Mondays or Fridays.
Q: Is online counseling right for me?
A: Online therapy works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not people who are suicidal or in crisis), can easily navigate use of technology and have a quiet, private place to engage in sessions.
Q: Who do you work with?
A: I provide therapy services for adults and couples who reside in California, Minnesota, and North Carolina. I specialize in managing anxiety and difficult life transitions, and relationship difficulties including infidelity recovery and divorce/separation. I do not serve clients 18 and under at this time.
Q: How long do appointments last?
A: Appointments are 50 minutes. This is the standard length of a therapy session. I do provide options for extending session length and this can be discussed further in our first session.
Q: How often will we meet?
A: To begin, I recommend meeting once a week. I find it’s important to establish rapport and a good rhythm for our work together in the beginning and adjust based on your needs as things progress in your therapy journey.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: I charge $150 per 50-minute session for individuals and $185 per 50-minute session for couples. Payment will be collected by credit card transaction at the time of service.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Yes, I am in-network with a number of insurance companies. Please contact me by phone or email for further information. If you have a PPO type plan and want to submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement, I can provide a Superbill statement to you and you can provide this directly to your insurance company. Please note that submitting an insurance claim means I will need to give you a mental health diagnosis.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: I require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment in full. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
